The short version. The Eclipse app has no account, no analytics and no telemetry, and it doesn't phone home. Everything it shows you is worked out on your Mac. This website keeps one thing: the email address you give it when you download, so we can tell you about updates. We never sell it or share it.
The app
Eclipse stores its data in ~/Library/Application Support/Eclipse and its settings in ~/Library/Preferences/dev.shrithan.eclipse.plist. None of it is uploaded anywhere.
- Clipboard history is kept on your Mac. Items marked as concealed or transient, which is what password managers use, are never stored.
- Shelf files are copied into Eclipse's folder so the originals can move. Clear the shelf and the copies are deleted.
- Notes, screen time and timers live in the same local folder.
- Claude usage is read from Claude Code's own files in
~/.claude, on your Mac. Nothing is sent to Anthropic or to us. - Agent approvals (off until you turn them on) travel from Claude Code's hooks to Eclipse over a local socket on your Mac. Your decision goes back the same way.
- Revenue keys for Stripe, Polar or Dodo Payments are stored in your login Keychain. Eclipse only ever makes read requests with them.
- Menu bar sizing (optional, off until you allow Accessibility in Settings › Appearance) reads only the positions of the menus and status items beside the notch, so the closed notch can fit around them. Nothing else is read, and nothing is stored.
When the app uses the network
Only for features you use, and only to the service that feature needs:

Permissions
Eclipse asks for nothing at launch. Each prompt appears the first time you open the tool that needs it: Calendar for the calendar tab, Automation for Music or Spotify, Location only if you choose current-location weather, and Notifications for timers. On macOS 26 and later you may also be asked whether Eclipse can read what other apps copy, for clipboard history. Eclipse never asks for Accessibility, Input Monitoring or Screen Recording.
This website
What we keep when you download
When you enter your email to download Eclipse, we store:
- your email address, lowercased;
- when you first signed up;
- which form you used (for example, the top of the page or the download section);
- your browser's user-agent string, which tells us your macOS version so we know which versions to support;
- your country, as guessed by Cloudflare from your IP address (the address itself isn't stored);
- how many times you've downloaded Eclipse from that browser;
- when we sent your welcome email, and whether and when you unsubscribed.
It's stored in a Cloudflare D1 database that only the developer can read. We use it to email you about Eclipse: one welcome email with your download link right after you sign up, then new versions, important fixes and, occasionally, something new we've built. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We never sell, rent or share the list.
Our emails are sent by Resend, the one service that receives the list. Resend gets your email address, the app you signed up for and which form you used, and keeps a record of the emails it delivers to you and whether you've unsubscribed. It uses them only to send our emails; see Resend's privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
There are no analytics, ad or tracking scripts on this site and no third-party cookies. After you sign up, we set one cookie, ecl_sub. It's signed, readable only by our server, and lets us count your downloads. If you'd rather not have it, delete it: downloads work without it.
To stop abuse, the sign-up form is rate limited using a salted hash of your IP address that expires within minutes. Downloads are counted per day and file with no personal data attached. If we turn on Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots, it runs only on the sign-up form.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or reply to one and ask us to delete your address. We'll remove it from the database and from Resend. You can also email shrithanofficial@gmail.com or reach the developer on X at @DevaiahShrithan.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we'll say so in the next update email.
